Who is the union behind the entertainment industry?
It's the I.A.T.S.E. which stands for International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.
The IATSE is the largest union in entertainment. There are locals across all of the United States and Canada. We have members involved in motion picture and television production, theater, live events and conventions, t.v. broadcasting, as well as concerts. The IATSE represents almost all the workers behind the scenes.

The city I live in has three different locals. We have our stagehand local, studio mechanics local, and our television broadcasting local.
Our stagehand local covers all of our concerts, events, and theater. That can include lighting, audio, video, as well as carpentry and electrical work.
"The actors get the glory, the spotlight and the name up in lights while it is the stagehands who point the spotlight, hang the name and change the light bulbs."
